On June 29th, just a few days ago, my house caught on fire.
The same day, we lost our family pet of 6 years. 

It was an electrical fire that completely burned away the antique table and buddha statue, melting the air conditioner right off the wall, and wrecking the whole ceiling. My house became a furnace of fire, smog, and ash. The marbled tiles are cracked and coated in soot, the electronics are straight fucked--so is the wiring in my house. Everything needs to be renovated and redone. 

My mother has been putting so much effort into decorating and making the house look cozy and welcoming these past months. Just the dinner we had hours before we were informed to return immediately, she talked about how grateful she was that we have a house. The excitement in her eyes when she'd show me the little coloured glass bottles and trinkets every time she came home from shopping. 

When I got home that day, I didn't recognize the living room. It was hard to believe we lived there at all. No one was home that day, we couldn't have known.

There were signs of implied theft, but I won't go into that. 

I'm keeping this brief because it's a long story, I'm tired of retelling it over and over again and reliving all the 'what ifs' and 'maybes'. We've done enough of that the past few days, taking turns feeling guilty and heartbroken over what could've been done. How we could've saved our little princess.

She was buried in a flower patch in the parking lot, surrounded by potted plants. We can only hope she's in peace--being happy with other dogs in doggy heaven. 

We have tons of support from our neighbours and we're living in a makeshift studio room in the same condominium complex. 

As for me,

I'm doing alright. I'll miss her, the princess of the family, so much. I'm just glad we have a place to stay. I'm just glad her body wasn't burnt to a crisp. I'm just glad that my parents are doing better, that we're slowly getting back on our feet. 

Things are improving for us, I just wanted to leave a quick update instead of going dark and disappearing.

_{Hello! I've been pretty inactive everywhere but that's because of life + I was overseas for about two weeks with my Mother. Sorry if I seem to have disappeared off the face of the earth. Oh God. I don't remember but it was fan art. I ended up deleting everything on my first account and I stored plenty of art which I deemed 'gross' after a couple weeks/months/years on this account so-- o(--(

What is your favourite type of art to create?

Ahh. I really, really, really, like doing art of my OCs and of my friends' OCs. If you expect proper pieces of art out of me all the time I'd scream at own ass because I??? I have no time and I am slow o(--(

My friends' pieces, deviations from my groups. I browse around and lurk on the few of my favourite artists' pages from time to time and I realized that I quite like the whole 'muted-colours but with contrasting and saturated undertones' thing.

How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?

I've made tons of friends on this site and it makes me incredibly happy to see them improve day by day. I've also improved from observing and admiring the art of my friends and the few others I watch. Art isn't the only thing that improved, ya' know?

It was years ago when I first joined WorldTrain. My first ever role play group. I've grown quite fond of writing up a few paragraphs here and there, making my character and my friend's character interact. It was thanks to this group that I learned to love role  playing. The friends I've met from role play groups are probably the closest friends I have to date.
